COVID- 19 Message to the Sophomore Class:

In the wake of an unprecedented school closure, I wanted to reach out and let you know that I'm committed to supporting you through it.  Times of uncertainty and change can be stressful and anxiety-provoking.  I'm here to help, care for, and encourage you in any way that I can.

I will be checking my email several times each day.   In addition, I will have the following office hours:

Mondays 9:00-10:00
Wednesdays 9:00-10:00
Thursdays 2:00-3:00

During office hours, we can email, talk by phone, or talk using an online platform like Zoom or Google Hangouts.  I'd also welcome your emails just letting me know how you are and what you're spending your time doing.  Please remember to take care of yourselves, both physically and mentally.  Spend some time doing things that nurture you, whether it's getting outdoors to take a walk or run, doing art, listening to music, or talking with friends and family.

My email is [email protected]

Below are some resources that can be helpful during this time.  The first is a PowerPoint with some helpful tips to take care of yourself and stay busy during time at home, as well as mental health resources.  The second link provides financial and community resources, and the third provides information about the MASD food relief program.

A Little About Me

I'm originally from Las Vegas, New Mexico, the "other" Las Vegas and the first one, incidentally.  This small town, where the plains meet the mountains, is where the 80's cult classic movie, Red Dawn, was filmed.

I earned my B.A. degree in Psychology and Spanish at the University of Redlands in Redlands, California and my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I have been a school counselor for 16 years.  I started my career in New Mexico, but I have also worked as a school counselor in Colorado, Kentucky, and the Department of Defense school system in Germany.  I have lived in Central Pennsylvania since 2013.

I love spending time outdoors, hiking, biking, camping, and gardening.  I also enjoy yoga, cooking on Sunday afternoons, reading, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.
