The MASH Course Selection Book offers the following description of the course:
 

PHOTOGRAPHY II

7525          Grades 11-12         .25 Credit       1 Year                                         2 Periods/Cycle

Prerequisite:  An 80% cumulative average in Photography I is required.  Each student will need his/her own camera (35 mm, manually operated, SLR – NOT DIGITAL) and must purchase appropriate film and paper to be used for this course.  Supplies for this course can be purchased through the Art Department.  The estimated cost of film and paper per semester is $85.00. 

 

This course will fine tune the fundamental skills learned in Photography I and introduce different creative camera and darkroom techniques.  Knowledge of how to use the camera will be expanded to understand how to create Sabattier, painting with light, motion, and depth of field prints.  In addition to what was taught in Photography I, darkroom skills will include density and contrast control and printing on 11”x14” paper.  Students will also learn to spot and hand-color their prints.  Students will learn the process of critiquing photographs and will critique selected works of noted photographers.
