Optional - MASH Health Chopped : Quarantine Edition in Google Classroom

Optional - MASH Health Chopped : Quarantine Edition

Welcome to MASH’s Chopped : Quarantine Addition. Today we have a unique opportunity to practice our “foodie” skills. Today will be “part one” of our nutrition unit Chopped segment. We have all made it to the point in the house where you look at Mom and Dad and say, “there’s nothing to eat…” Today you are going to take that "nothing" and turn it into a delicious dish.

If you are unfamiliar with Chopped rules, they are as follows. You will be given 4 mandatory mystery ingredients that you will have to use in your creation. Your mystery ingredients are… Chicken, Honey, Ketchup, and Rice. You may use anything else that you have in your kitchen to create the dish. Please keep in mind that this should be a well-balanced meal. This means that you should have some sort of vegetable included in your dish. Utilize your parents to help the process of creating your dish if you wish (they have some life practice when it comes to creating meals). Don’t forget that presentation counts as well. Take a picture of your plated dish when completed. Explain your dish in the response to this question and post the picture of your dish to the Padlet link attached to this question. Please constructively criticize another student’s dish when its posted. Good luck! I can’t wait to see what you create!

Optional Question: During this time, your well-being and taking care of yourself has become increasingly important. Post a video, picture, or just a quick blurb of something that you have done in the last week to take care of overall wellness. This could be something that you wouldn't normally have enough time to do, more family time, or just simply some time to decompress. I look forward to seeing what you have done over the last week. Personally outside of extra time with my family, I have begun working on a new cabinet for my kitchen. This has been both calming and allowed me to focus my attention into something both positive and productive.

This optional assignment is going to stem off of the last one. Now that I am glad to hear many of you truly have made time for yourselves, now it's time to take it to the next step. Consider one of our early lessons from the semester. I asked you the questions, "Which dimension of wellness do you feel like you let slip or struggle with?". Compare that same dimension to your current situation. Do you feel like it's easier to find success now within that particular dimension? Explain. in Google Classroom
