A Little Bit About Me...
Since I was a student in high school, I wanted to be an art teacher in a district located close to my hometown of Dillsburg, PA. I worked hard to pursue this career interest and was rewarded with a teaching position here in the Mechanicsburg Area School District. I love my career and enjoy working with my colleagues and our wonderful students. In fact, I love the district so much that I moved into MASD when my oldest child started school. It is a blessing to have my children benefit from attending the outstanding schools in the district where I teach.
I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education from Millersville University in 1998. I finished working on my Masters Degree in Art Education at Millersville University in 2008. Although my teaching degree is very important to me, my concentration classes were in the areas of art history and film photography.
In my spare time, I do enjoy creating art and working with my interests in traditional black and white film photography. With that being said...I don’t have much spare time with two children of my own, teaching responsibilities, home life, working an additional part-time job, etc.
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I am involved in various other capacities for our district. I serve as the K-12 Art Department Coordinator, I am the co-advisor for our National Art Honor Society, I work with our high school students to design and paint the sets for our spring musicals, and I oversee the annual Senior Legacy Mural paintings that are created by our graduating seniors on a yearly basis.
