Hello and welcome to a new school year. This year I begin my 25th (GULP) year of teaching English to ninth graders here at MASH. My educational background includes graduating with a B.S. degree in English Education from Lock Haven University. Additionally, I have amassed 24 credits at Penn State Harrisburg in the Teaching and Curriculum coursework program. I have also received training in the Capital Area Writing Project, Learning Focused Schools, and STAR, along with completing coursework through the Penn Literacy Network. Another fulfilling aspect of my teaching duties includes teaching Journalism classes and advising the school newspaper The Torch, which I have been doing for the past twenty-two years. Additionally, I am a former MASH varsity field hockey coach, and I have served on The Patriot News Scholastic Writing Committee. Outside of school, I am the wife of Matthew, a teacher and head varsity football coach at another local high school, and the proud mother of two sporty boys, Austin, a freshman in college at Millersville University, and Brady, an energetic, sporty, and talkative eighth grader. Aside from teaching and my family, I also enjoy reading, running, hiking, being on the water either swimming, kayaking, or paddle-boarding, shopping, and attending my sons' football games in the fall. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.
My schedule this semester is as follows:
Period One: English 9 Level I
Period Three: English 9 Level I
Period Five: Planning Period
Period Seven: Journalism
