Welcome students! My name is Mr. Walters, and I am entering my second year of teaching at Mechanicsburg Area High School. I am a recent Messiah College graduate of 2020, and earned my Bachelor's Degree in History with a teaching certificate for secondary. While there, I coached three seasons (2017-2019) of boys soccer at Northern York High School. I primarily teach 11th grade American Government and Economics, but have also taught sections of 9th grade American Studies, 10th Grade World Cultures and CAOLA during my time at Mechanicsburg!

 

I am originally from Bucks County PA, where I attended Central Bucks East High School, and currently live in Mount Joy, PA. In my free time, I love hanging out with my family, hiking and exploring state and national parks, reading non-fiction books, traveling both domestically and abroad, watching a variety of sports, and coaching soccer. I try to see my niece and nephew as much as I can, in addition to the rest of my family. I love to travel and especially make my way around at least one of our National Parks each year (current count: 7). Additionally, in May of 2019, I had the opportunity to tour Greece for three weeks viewing the history and culture of much of mainland plus the islands of Crete and Rhodes. I follow most soccer leagues across Europe, in addition to being a very, very dedicated Philadelphia Eagles and Sixers fan.

 

I am looking forward to bringing all of my passions to the classroom and learning with each and every one of you at MASH this academic year!
