About Mr. Luttermoser

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Room 142. I'm glad you're here.

This will be my tenth school year with MASH, and I am really looking forward to new faces and new material. Outside of school I am involved with professional theatre in our area, an avid hiker, and a volunteer dog walker at the Humane Society of Harrisburg (see pictures below). I love the arts, the outdoors, my family and friends, and really interesting stories.

I will be trying many different approaches to our lessons and units throughout the semester, and I hope you're up for it. If at any time something is not working for you, literally or figuratively, please let me know! We can always find another way.

That said, there are some things that will not change. The most important part of English class is being able to craft what you think into an intelligent, clear, and supported form of communication. I will help you do that, and give you many ideas, concepts, and issues to consider. I will never tell you what to think, but I will show you how to communicate what you do think. This skill will serve you for the rest of your life, and English class is a great place to work on it.

Most of all, my classroom is a community, and one that doesn't work without you. Your unique life experience, perspective, insight, and personality are the most essential pieces to this community. I can't wait to learn more about you and what you stand for.

Let's support each other and never be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

See you in class!

-Mr. Luttermoser
