🎉 SENIORS IN FOCUS // Please join us in congratulating Nadia Hunter, a MASH senior and student intern at Chartwell Law. Nadia was recently selected unanimously as the recipient of the Empower Scholarship during PenWell Law’s annual Young Women in Law program. 🌍✈️ WORLD TRAVELERS // Our Wildcats at MASH traveled the world on Wednesday—without ever leaving the Wildcat Activity Center. 🚌🛑 BUS SAFETY PROGRAM LAUNCHES MAY 5, 2025 - PLEASE SHARE // Mechanicsburg Area School District has partnered with BusPatrol and our friends at Mechanicsburg Police Department, Upper Allen Township Police Department, and Shiremanstown Police Department to launch a new school bus safety program in line with PA Motor Vehicle Code § 3345. As part of the program, all school buses transporting our Wildcats will be outfitted with stop arm photo enforcement cameras to detect vehicles that illegally pass stopped school buses while the stop sign is out and red lights are engaged. Footage obtained of a vehicle that illegally passes the stopped bus is then shared with the police department to determine whether to issue a violation by mail. The violation is reviewed by law enforcement and, once approved, a notice of violation is sent to the registered vehicle owner by mail. The program will officially launch on Monday, May 5, 2025. LET'S CELEBRATE OUR STEP ACADEMY GRADS // We were honored to attend a special ceremony recently to celebrate our MASH Wildcats who graduated from the STEP program at HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College. HACC’s Set Goals, Take Action, Expect Great Things and Put in the Work (STEP) Academy prepares students for college and careers. The STEP Academy provides students with 140 hours of college and career readiness and exploration that will last a lifetime - including an OSHA safety certification, CPR certification and the National Career Readiness Certificate. Thanks to generous donations from the Justamere Foundation through the HACC Foundation, our Wildcats jointed students from Steelton-Highspire Jr./Sr. High School to participate in, and graduate from, the STEP Academy earlier this year.
